Brrrrrrrrrrrr it's cold outside!

I don't know about where you live but where I live it has already started to snow! Can you believe it?! It's beautiful but I'm not sure I'm ready yet for the snow. As soon as things start to get colder my skin starts to get dry and itchy. In this post we are going to discuss some good moisturizers to use for you face in this cold, wintery weather! What kind of moisturizers are your favorites?

My all time favorite moisturizer that works good for all skin types and also has sunscreen in it is the

I love the way this smells! So yummy! If you have problems with oily skin throughout the day this would be the right moisturizer to use.

Also by Mychelle I really like the Pumpkin Renew Cream, great for all skin types

Another brand that I am in love with is AnnaMarie Borlind
For combination skin type try their Skin Light Combination Moisturizer
or if you have sensitive skin try their ZZ Sensitive Moisturizer
and those of you who have dry skin try their Rose Dew Cream

Hope everyone is having a great November so far! Getting super excited for Thanksgiving this year. Now go get some new moisturizer so you can all have pretty, fresh, smooth faces for this beautiful time of year!! Cause, who wants an itchy dry face?! Not this girl!

Photoshoot fun!

I had the opportunity to work on a photoshoot on saturday. Seriously had SO much fun!

The shoot was inspired by Beneath the Starry Sky by Emily Soto, check it out here

Makeup was more of a neutral natural smoky eye with really dark reddish cranberry lips.
The two models were so sweet and wonderful to work with. I did makeup for the beautiful miss Cait and then  a friend of my husband's wife, Sara, ( who is also a MUA) helped out with the other model, beautiful miss Courtney. It was soooo soooo much fun to work with another MUA!

Here's a sneak peak!!

More to come soon!

Halloween is just around the corner!

With Halloween coming soon, I thought I would spend sometime doing fun makeup tutorials that you can use for halloween costume ideas!

I'm thinking about posting an owl look. One of my close friends emailed me yesterday and asked if I could help out with an owl look for her halloween costume! .... Which halloween look would you like to see?!

Any other suggestions are welcomed! Let me know and I will get to work and have some fun tutorials for you guys! =)

Yay! So, Let's get started!

Makeup I used:

EYES
Gluestick (to erase eyebrows)
Cream White Base (I just used a face paint in white)
Matte White Eyeshadow
Cork by MAC (matte brown eyeshadow)
FireFly by Bare Escentuals (Medium shimmery reddish brown)
Backstage by Jemma Kidd (shimmery dark charcoal grey)
Matte Light Blue Eyeshadow
Wet n Wild Eyeliners in Charcoal, Taupe, Dark Blue, Sky Blue and Black Brown
Black Liquid Eyeliner
False Lashes (I used Red Cherry #1 on top and ardells #21 on the bottom)
Rhinestones (bought at local craft store)
Feathers (also bought at local craft store)

LIPS
Lip liner- I actually used a white eyeliner by wet n wild and then dabbed yellow and orange eyeshadows on the lips then I went over them with a clear gloss

On a side note, warning when you watch this video...its my very first video and I think I might need some practice! hahaha sooooo if you don't mind my kids in the background and me trying to tape myself doing makeup at the same time then watch on! I will definitely go take some lessons right now on how to do better videos!! oops hahahahah...
so, here we go!

Yummy Fall Homemade Facial Mask

Fall is in the air and I absolutely LOOOOVVVVEE it! I wish it could stay like this all year round. I have been super busy doing all sorts of fall stuff with my kids. We made pumpkin spice pancakes for breakfast and went for a walk to look at different colors of leaves, I think I am probably having more fun though! I just LOVE everything about fall, apples, pumpkin patches, leaves changing colors and all the yummy recipes you can make with cinnamon and nutmeg.
So, I follow this site called the Krazycouponlady, have you ever heard of it? Such an awesome site that helps you find the best deals on stuff and teaches you how to become a crazy coupon lady! =) Anyways, today I was reading on there and the latest post was about how to make a facial mask from ingredients that you already have at home! So since I like to save money on beauty stuff I thought I could share this with you guys! You can go here to see her post.

Here's a picture of me with the homemade mask on!

All it is, is 3 simple ingredients!

(I cut the recipe in half of what she said to do)

1 tbsp Honey
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Nutmeg

Mix them all together to create a yummy smelling paste and slather that on all over your face!
Seriously, smelt like fall on my face! hahaha

I left mine on for about 20 minutes...She say's to leave it on for 30 minutes but mine started to burn alittle bit but that's just because my skin is sensitive. So if you have to leave it on for 10-15 min that's fine too, do whatever feels right for your skin!

After I washed this baby off oh man let me just tell you how soft my skin was! My husband came home for lunch while I was wearing the mask, he was like "what the heck?!" haha. So after I washed it off I made him feel how soft my face was cause dang, seriously SO flipping soft! He agreed, it was pretty soft! haha =)

So there ya go! Go try it! I promise you will LOVE it!

Mad Men shoot!

My husbands wonderfully talented cousin Bree was here visiting and wanted to do a photoshoot for her Etsy shop, you can find it here! Isn't it SO adorable, I love everything she does! She's so talented!

The theme was a 1950's/ 1960's back to school/ secretary photoshoot (think mad men), for her fall line of fascinators! I loved all of the rich fall colors she chose.

For the makeup I went with a brown smoky look for Sam (with short hair), for Ashley (with red hair) I did more of a smoky brown and green look and for mine I had done red and mustard yellow (I wasn't planning on modeling originally but the colors I was wearing actually worked out with the shoot because of the fall colors!)

Here's a sneak peak of all of us modeling the fascinators!!

We all had such a fun time!!! I can't wait to see more of the pictures =)
Aren't those fascinators SO adorable!?!?
