Photoshoot fun!

I had the opportunity to work on a photoshoot on saturday. Seriously had SO much fun!

The shoot was inspired by Beneath the Starry Sky by Emily Soto, check it out here

Makeup was more of a neutral natural smoky eye with really dark reddish cranberry lips.
The two models were so sweet and wonderful to work with. I did makeup for the beautiful miss Cait and then  a friend of my husband's wife, Sara, ( who is also a MUA) helped out with the other model, beautiful miss Courtney. It was soooo soooo much fun to work with another MUA!

Here's a sneak peak!!

More to come soon!

Mad Men shoot!

My husbands wonderfully talented cousin Bree was here visiting and wanted to do a photoshoot for her Etsy shop, you can find it here! Isn't it SO adorable, I love everything she does! She's so talented!

The theme was a 1950's/ 1960's back to school/ secretary photoshoot (think mad men), for her fall line of fascinators! I loved all of the rich fall colors she chose.

For the makeup I went with a brown smoky look for Sam (with short hair), for Ashley (with red hair) I did more of a smoky brown and green look and for mine I had done red and mustard yellow (I wasn't planning on modeling originally but the colors I was wearing actually worked out with the shoot because of the fall colors!)

Here's a sneak peak of all of us modeling the fascinators!!

We all had such a fun time!!! I can't wait to see more of the pictures =)
Aren't those fascinators SO adorable!?!?

Bridals!

Yesterday I did my sister in law's makeup as a practice run for when she gets married in August! My husband took some pictures of her at the studio. It was alot of fun!!

I did a smoky look for her with nude lips. It's a bit different then the bridal tutorial I have already posted.

She is getting married in the late afternoon/evening so I can go alittle bit more dramatic, which is why I chose to do a smoky eye. Plus, she really loves the look.  Its always important to please the bride! =)

Here's a sneak peak to our shoot yesterday!! I will be doing a tutorial on this smoky bridal look soon...

Rocker girl

Yesterday, my hairstylist and good friend wanted to do a photoshoot and asked me to do her makeup! It was so much fun working with a friend! Plus, she has beautiful skin and features and putting makeup on her was so much fun! I decided to do more of a smoky dark look. The colors reminded me of peacock feathers. The colors I used were teal, turquoise, dark green, lime green, rusty reddish brown, gold, and a white with gold shimmers. Here is a sneak peak to the shoot....

As soon as I get more pictures I will post more! In this one you can't really tell the eyeshadow, but doesn't she look gorgeous?!

What are your favorite eyeshadow colors to play with? I was really loving these colors and will have to try them out on myself!

1920's Flapper Girl and Sexy Pin-up girl photoshoot!

My hubby happens to be a photographer with a studio and I just did my very first shoot acouple weeks ago, but just now getting to blog about it!! Check him out here =) It was alot of fun working with him and the two hairstylists as well. Everytime I do makeup for someone (and this being my first shoot) I learn new things about myself, where I need to improve, how to be more organized and more efficient on time, that sort of thing. I feel so lucky to be able to practice in my hubby's studio. I think we will have to do this more often!

There were two models, very pretty and the sweetest girls ever! I had alot of fun getting to know them! For one of the model's she was going for more of a 1920's flapper girl look. So I did some research online about the 1920's and learned  that they used alot of pan makeup and soot and coal. So for the eyes I wanted to do something very dark, blacks blues and greens with pencil thin eyebrows. The lips I wanted to do more of a darker shade of raspberry with a cupids bow. The cheeks I wanted to do something with a touch of red maybe a little bit of raspberry.

Here are some inspirations I found online ( I just googled 1920's flapper girl)

Here are some pictures from the shoot! The 1920's look!

For the pin-up girl look I wanted do a more glamorous and old Hollywood/ Marilyn Monroe look. If you look at the pin-up girls they really didn't wear a whole lot of makeup, it was very clean and classic. So here are a few inspirations that I found. I wanted to definitely play up the eyeliner and do a dark lip.

Here is the pin-up girl look I did!

There are more pictures, but I will have to get more from Mr. Hubby Photographer =)
I had such a fun time, I hope to do more photoshoots in the future!!
I am thinking about doing some tutorials on how I did each of these looks, any thoughts?

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!
loves
